A super easy (and affordable!) dinner option that the kids… and husband… beg for is “Build Your Own BLTA” night. It may not be the healthiest option out there, but it’s far from the worst (pizza comes to mind). Using whole wheat bread and adding avocados to the traditional BLT formula makes it a little healthier (and filling) too. I found all the ingredients at our local 99 Cent Only store (everything was $1, except for the $3 bacon) so the entire meal was only $7 and fed our family of 5 with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
1 Loaf whole wheat bread, toasted
1 lb Bacon, cooked
4 Tomatoes, sliced
1 Head of lettuce, washed and seperated into leaves
2 Avocados, sliced
Set ingredients out and let everyone make themselves a delicious sandwich. Yum.
